Sally WATROUS and Gideon SOUTHWORTH were married on 7 November 1801 in Chester, Middlesex County, CT.22,23 They left Chester, CT in 1810 with their first four children and moved their goods on an ox sled and settled in Montrose, PA. Afterwards, the county gave them 200 acres of land. They build a house, cleared the land and began a new farm. A part of the house is still standing in 1955. Gideon SOUTHWORTH was a carpenter and farmer. |
