Descendants of Russell Watrous

Gauthier de Falaise is believed to have been born in France in the year 1000. He was the 21st paternal great-grandfather of Colonel Russell Watrous (through several changes in surnames). Colonel Watrous and his wife, Lovisa Beebe, were born in the early-1800's--he in Connecticut and she in Massachusetts--and they were the parents of five daughters and one son.

One of the daughters was Martha Jane Watrous, who married Samuel Griswold in 1851. Their daughter, Carrie Permelia Griswold married Clarence Lucius Griggs in 1880. Clarence and Carrie were the ancestors of all of the Griggs family members in Monroe County.
