1. Julius Johann WENDTLAND Sr. was born on 12 July 1831 in Preussen (Prussia).1,2,3,4 (His surname was spelled "Wendtland" in the baptism record of his son Johannes, but as "Wendland" in the record of his daughter Caroline.)

(The St. John's Lutheran Church baptism records list the 7 March 1867 baptism of Ottilie Emilie Wendland, who was the daughter of Johann Julius Wendland and Juliane Friederike Schedler. It is not known if that was this Julius Johann Wendtland.) He was Lutheran on 7 January 1866 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.5,6,7 when he became a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was listed in the Church Register as member number 92 of the first 100 members of the congregation. He and his family were listed in the church Communion Records in the early-1890's. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.8 Julius appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.1 His occupation was "Farmer." He died on 6 July 1904 at the age of 72 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.2,4 He was buried on 8 July 1904 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.4,9,10 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Julius Johann WENDTLAND Sr. and Wilhelmine "Minnie" GERKE were married in 1868.5,11,12 Wilhelmine "Minnie" GERKE, daughter of Heinrich O. GERKE and Christine Elisabeth KLINGE, was born on 20 October 1839 in Dransfeld, nach Gottingen, Hanover, Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,2,9,13,14,15 (The 1870 Census listed her birth place as "Prussia." According to her church death record, she was born in Hanover.) (Her surname is spelled "Gehrke" in the church baptism record of her son Ferdinand.)
