DAMS, was born on 14 June 1934 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.28,88 He died on 23 March 2006 at the age of 71 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.28 Obituary Notes: "John H. Likely, 71, of Wilton, died March 23, 2006, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. He was born June 14, 1934, to Harry and Gertrude (Dams) Likely in Tomah. On Feb. 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Alice Wendland in Ridgeville by Pastor Meyers. John and Alice had a family farm near Wilton and raised three girls. He worked at Tillman Produce of Wilton, Blado Oil Company of Tomah and Lyle’s Fuel Services of Tomah. For the past 37 years, his favorite thing to do was to haul the Amish. He is survived by his wife, Alice of Wilton; three daughters, Lorrie (Todd) Haase of Kendall, Tamra and Stephany, both of Tomah; four brothers, Robert (Rita) of Plover, Thomas (Barbara) of Tomah, David (Vanessa) of Norwalk and Myron “Mike” (Mary Ellen) of Tomah; three sisters, Mary (Ralph) Wendland, Barbara (Fred) Callaway and Loretta “Betty” (Dennis) Durec, all of Tomah; four brothers-in-law, Edwin (Lillian) Wendland of Kendall, Rudolph Wendland of Sparta, Ralph (Mary) Wendland of Tomah and Irvin (Julie) Wendland of Tomah; four grandsons, Michael (Hollie) Satona, Joshua, Cody and Jacob, all of Kendall; one great-grandson, Jayden; many relatives and friendsd. He was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles, Harold and Kenny Dams; an aunt, Lorraine Miller; his grandparents, Jack and Eva Likely, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Julia Wendland. The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A family memorial service is being held March 30 in Wilton."
