She appeared in the census in 1850 in China Township, Wyoming County, NY.⁴ She appeared in the census in 1875 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ Elvira appeared in the census in 1880 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.² In 1897 she was a farmer in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ Her farm was located in the southwest quadrant of Section 18. She appeared in the census in 1900 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.¹¹ Elvira appeared in the census in 1910 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ She was living with her son Erwin. She appeared in the census in 1920 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁴ She was living with her son "Erwin" and his family. She died on 27 June 1929 at the age of 90 in Wyeville, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ Elvira was buried in Wyeville, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ in the Wood Cemetery.

ROOT (/)¹⁰, son of Daniel ROOT and Cornelia Leah SEELEY, was born on 13 February 1837 in Sidney, Delaware County, NY.^2,9,10 (His gravestone lists his year of birth as 1831.) (His name was spelled "Orrin" in the 1880 Census.) He served in the military between 31 December 1864 and 6 April 1857 in Richford Township, Waushara County, WI.¹⁵ He enlisted in the 14th Regiment of the Wisconsin Infantry. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Richford Township, Waushara County, WI.⁶ He was a widower, and lived with his children, Ann, Dan and Archie. Orrin appeared in the census in 1875 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ His household consisted of 6 males and 4 females. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.² His occupation was listed as "farmer." He died on 2 June 1887 at the age of 50 in Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ Orrin was buried in Valley Junction, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,16 in the Wood Cemetery.
