Nello Bichel FELTON267 was born on 25 October 1921 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.267 He was a member of the First Baptist Church after 1927 in Warrens, Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.262 He graduated in 1939 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.267,268 from Tomah High School. Nello appeared in the census in 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.269 He died on 5 October 2013 at the age of 91 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.267

Obituary Notes: "Nello Bichel Felton, 91, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Tomah.
He was the oldest of two sons of Leo and Flossie (Bichel) Felton of Warrens, Wis., born on Oct. 25, 1921. Nello graduated from Tomah High School in 1939, and was married to Virginia Jorgensen in Adams, Wis., on March 10, 1946. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army for four years during World War II, including stints in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Okinawa. He was also a member of the Wisconsin National Guard for 34 years. He worked for the Tomah VA hospital for 22 years and later transferred to Fort McCoy as a supply officer, retiring after 40 years of service to the U.S. government. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Tomah Lion’s Club, American Legion and the Tomah Veteran’s Memorial committee. Nello greatly enjoyed photography, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and hunting, especially big game in our western states.
He is survived by Virginia, his wife of 67 years; two sons, Douglas, of Lithia, Fla., and Robert, of Manito, Ill.; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Cale) Halbleib of Apex, N.C., and Eric of Lithia; and four great-grandchildren, Owen, Nora, Esme and Elias Halbleib.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard.
The family would like to thank the employees of the Hospice Touch, Dr. Caveness, and all the fine caregivers at the Tomah VA hospice unit for their outstanding care during the past year. Special thanks also to Pastors Dahl and Mann for their prayers and visits and a very special thanks to Kathy Steele for taking so much of her time to visit, pray with and commune Nello. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on today, Oct. 10, 2013 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 310 W. Elizabeth St., Tomah, with Pastor David Dahl and Pastor Scott Mann officiating. Burial will be at Warrens-Mills Cemetery in Warrens, with military honors by Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201."

Nello Bichel FELTON and Virginia Anna JORGENSEN were married on 10 March 1946 in Adams, Adams Township, Adams County, WI.77,270,271 Virginia Anna JORGENSEN, daughter of William Samuel JORGENSEN and Mary Evelyn GOFF, was born on 10 January 1924 in Wisconsin.25,272 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wyeville, Byron Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She graduated in 1941 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.271,273,274 from Tomah High School. Virginia appeared in the census in 1950 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.269 She died on 24 May 2022 at the age of 98 in Wisconsin Rapids, Wood County, WI.271 Obituary Notes: "Virginia Felton, 98, of Tomah, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids. She was born January 10, 1924, to William and Mamie (Goff) Jorgensen in Wyeville. She was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1941.

Virginia was united in marriage to Nello Felton on March 10, 1946. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2013. She worked for the Tomah Memorial Hospital as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed spending her time painting china, playing cards with friends, and being a Hummel collector.

Most important to Virginia was spending time with her family. They took many family trips including trips to the World’s Fair, the Banff-Jasper National Park, Yellowstone, and every summer in Northern Wisconsin. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember Grandma’s Chocolate Chip Cookies.

She was a faithful member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church a member of the Ladies Circle and was active in helping to organize the Scandinavian bake sale. Virginia was always thinking about others, she had a gentle and giving personality, and always had a smile on her face. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by 2 sons, Douglas, of Lithia, Fl. and Robert (Pat), of Rochelle, Il.; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Halbleib of Apex, N.C. and Eric of Rothschild, WI.; and 4 great grandchildren, Owen, Nora, Esme and Elias Halbleib, a sister-in-law Velda Felton of Tomah, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard, a sister Donna Simon, brothers Robert and George, and 2 brothers-in-law John Felton and Jerry Simon, 2 sisters-in-law Eunice and Ester Jorgensen

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 315 W. Elizabeth St. Tomah. Pastor Scott Mann and David Dahl will officiate. Burial will be in the Warren-Mills Cemetery.
