CLAY was born on 30 June 1904 in Monroe County, WI.^15,24,51 (Her name was spelled "Lorene" in her mother's obituary, "Lorraine" in her sister's obituary, and "Lorene" in the Clay Family Bible.) She appeared in the census in 1910 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ She appeared in the census in 1920 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ Lorene died on 3 November 1981 at the age of 77 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^51,87

Lorene F. CLAY and William "Billy" SCHONE Jr. were married on 31 October 1936.⁸⁸ (She may have had a prior marriage to a Mr. Hawkins.) William "Billy" SCHONE Jr., son of William SCHONE and Louisa LODWIG, was born on 31 March 1895 in Frankfort, Spink County, SD.⁸⁸ He died before March 1993 at the age of 98.¹⁵
