Virginia May NAUMAN and Clifford L. HEASTY were married on 17 April 1949 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.13,136,137 Clifford L. HEASTY, son of Ralph HEASTY and Caroline Eliza MELTESEN, was born on 11 January 1923 in Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.13,136,138 He died on 6 May 2010 at the age of 87 in Janesville, Rock County, WI.138

Obituary Notes: "Clifford Lee Heasty, 87, of Janesville lost his battle with cancer at his home on Thursday, May 6, 2010. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Clifford was born in the town of Sparta, Monroe County on January 11, 1923, the son of Ralph and Caroline (Meltesen) Heasty. He married Virginia May Nauman on April 17, 1949, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ridgeville. He farmed on the family farm near Sparta until 1955. In 1956, after moving to Rock County, Clifford began employment at Beloit Iron Works (Beloit Corporation), where he worked as a machinist for 32 years until retiring in 1988. Clifford was baptized and confirmed in 1949 and has been a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Janesville since 1958. He served on the church council for two years, was active in the senior citizens group, helped with Meals On Wheels, funeral lunches and the Wilson School Breakfast Club. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Sparta, the Beloit Corporation Quarter Century Club and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local # 1197, where he had served as secretary/ treasurer for a time.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Virginia; seven children, Jean (Cedric) Hathway, Ruth (Tommy) Hendrix, Doris (Jeff) Seabaugh, Patricia Heasty, Ralph (Susan) Heasty, Richard (Sandra) Heasty, Raymond (Kelly) Heasty; 20 grandchildren, Jack, Zach, Ian, Kyle, Amber, Dustin, Heather, Dan, Devin, Jennifer Lynn, Joshua, Clifford, Crystal, Jennifer May, John, Don, Tim, Michelle, Patrick, Henry; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elnore (John) Silbernagel, Geneice Fisher, Marlene (Robert) Wilhelm; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clarence and Lawrence and a sister, Rachel.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1422 Center Avenue, Janesville, with Pastor Bruce Gray officiating. Visitation will be at St. Peter’s Church in the Cross and Crown Room on Monday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, followed by a luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 N. Water St., Sparta. Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville. Clifford’s family thanks all who have assisted them in any way during this difficult time.”
