Jacob VAN DER VOORT was born on 26 November 1785 in Beekman, Dutchess County, New York Colony, British Colonial America.16,36 He appeared in the census in 1820 in Blenheim Township, Schoharie County, NY.33 His household consisted of 2 males, age 0-10 (probably unknown sons); 1 male, age 26-45 (Jacob, age 34); 2 females, age 0-10 (probably unknown daughters); 1 female, age 16-26 (Catherine, age 24); and 1 female, age 26-45 (unknown, but possibly Catherine's mother). One person was "engaged in Agriculture." He died on 1 December 1821 at the age of 36 in Blenheim Township, Schoharie County, NY.16,27,36 (He may have died in December 1819 or 1820.) Jacob VAN DER VOORT and Catherine ACKER were married on 9 December 1809.33,45 The 1820 Census record shows their family consisting of one male, age 26-45 (Jacob); one female, age 16-26 (probably his wife, Catherine); one female, age 26-45; and two females, age 0-10. The two youngest were probably their daughters (Jacob and Catherine married in 1809), but it is not known who the 26-45 year-old would have been. It might have been Catherine's mother or an older sister.
