Kathleen (Weber) Looser has the following letter that he sent Robert and Bernadine (Tanger) Weber:

"Hello Bob and Bernadine we was sure surprised to get your card and to hear you were all well. That is the main thing isn’t it. I remember Bessie Vandervort and her brother Floyd, they were Uncle Charley’s children by his first wife. And uncle Charley got married the second time. I don’t remember her last name but her first name was Ida.  Who is your father and mother?   I mean their last name of course it had to be Vandervort.  Maybe you can explain everything if you write to us. It looks like you folks built a nice house. 

I am 79 years old the 16th of July and my wife is 77 years old.  Old duffers, eh?  Please excuse this scribbling.  Will try and do better next time.  I don’t know for sure if I answered all your questions or not.  I hope so.  I am the oldest in our family.  I am glad you met Violet and Leonard and Darwin and Evelyn. I have a brother Cecil that lives at Deer River, Minn. He lost his wife poor fellow but I guess we all have to go thru that some time in life. Fern my sister lives in Denver Colorado. She lost her husband too. My brother James and Sister Hazel passed away a long time ago. I think I’ll have to quit this scribbling for this time.
