296. Daniel Poore PETTINGELL (*) was born on 16 February 1679 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. He signed a will. In his Will, he names Esther and his two sons, Obediah and Samuel, who were both over 21, to each get one-third of his homestead. He died on 12 May 1726 at the age of 47 in Abington, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Colony, British Colonial America. Obituary Notes: "Daniel Pettingell was born February 1679-80 in Newbury, Essex county, Massachusetts, the son of Samuel Pettingell and Sarah (Poore) Pettingell. He was twice married and a cooper, by occupation.

On November 3, 1715, Daniel bought sixty acres of land, from Jacob Nash, for £60, in Abington and Bridgewater, in Plymouth county, Massachusetts, adjoining that of his brother John. Daniel and Hester moved there, and he was chosen constable in 1723.

On November 13, 1699, Daniel married Mary Stickney. "Daniel applied for a sword in October, 1700." Mary died March 7, 1706-7. The children of Daniel and Mary were born at Newbury, Essex county, Massachusetts: Akerman Pettingell, born June 30, 1700; Daniel Pettingell, born January 5, 1704-5, baptized March 18, 1704-5; and Mary Pettingll, born March 4, 1706-7.

On March 26, 1707-8, Daniel married Esther (aka Hester) French, daughter of Samuel and Esther French of Salisbury. Daniel and "Hester" were admitted to the church on May 9, 1712. Children of Daniel and Ester are: Infant son, born March 6, 1708-9, died young; Obadiah Pettingell, twin, born circa 1710, died October 18, 1743, at Abington, married Martha Hovey, on January 20, 1731; 
Samuel Pettingell, twin born circa 1710, married Martha Jackson on December 14, 1732; Esther (Ester) Pettingell, born October 24, 1712, died at Abington, July 19, 1735, unmarried; John Pettingell, born February 4, 1714, baptized at Newbury, on February 6, 1714; Joseph Pettingell, born May 28, 1717, at Abington; Benjamin Pettingell, born February 16,1719-20, at Abington; Joanna Pettingell, born November 10, 1722, at Agington, died February 18, 1810, at Abington, unmarried; and Sarah Pettingell, born February 23, 1724, married Joseph Bates, of Abington, on January 9, 1746." Esther Hester FRENCH (*) and Daniel Poore PETTINGELL (*) were married on 26 March 1708 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. On March 21, 1707, they sold land in Salisbury that Hester had inherited from her grandfather, Edward French. On November 3, 1715, Daniel bought from Jacob Nash 60 acres of land in Abington and Bridgewater, adjoining that of his brother John for 60 pounds. After she became a widow, Hester sold more land on March 15, 1755.

297. Esther Hester FRENCH (*) was born on 22 September 1688 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. She was christened on 23 September 1688 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. She died on 19 July 1735 at the age of 46 in Abington, Plymouth County, Massachusetts Colony, British Colonial America.

Children were:
