Her surname is listed as "Palling" in most sources on Ancestry.com, as "Pauling" in her Find-a-Grave cemetery record, as "Pullen" in the Certificate of Death of her son Orison and some Root family records, and as "Pulling" in some Griggs family records.

David O. Pulling (LVXY-7VB) and his wife Dacy (LVF8-TJB) filed an affidavit in support of the Civil War Widow's Pension (WC96873) of Clarinda Pulling's daughter Harriet Knapp Root, so they were likely her relatives.
