2696. John TAYLOR V (*) was born on 18 December 1603 in Haverhill, Suffolk County, England. From The Families of Old Fairfield: "He may be the John Taylor was was at Lynn in 1630; from Haverhill, co. Suffolk, and on passage lost his wife and child. He m. (perhaps as his second wife) a widow, Rhoda _____, and came to Windsor 1639. He served on a jury, June 1644, and was appointed an arbiter of a civil action.

He died about 1646, traditionally lost at sea. His will, 24 Nov, 1645 (but not entered for probate until 6 Sept. 1694, after death of his widow), mentioned his wife, two sons, and daus.-in-law. Rhoda, a widow, had prob. two daus. by her first husband. She m. (3) Walter Hoyt, with whom she rem.(oved) to Norwalk. The son Thomas went with them, and received land from Walter Hoyt by deed Apr. 1674."
