6. David ARITY was born in 1823 in Eaton Township, Madison County, NY.⁷ Eaton is a township in Madison County, New York, with an elevation of 1,398 ft and a surface area of 45.57 mi².  It's located in the south-central part of the county, with US Route 20 passing through the northern part. 

Eaton was settled in the early 1790s and was the main location of the Oneida tribe, a group of the Iroquois who allied with colonial forces during the American Revolution. Euro-American settlement began around 1792, and the town was formed in 1807 from the Town of Hamilton. 

He appeared in the census in 1850 in Madison Township, Madison County, NY.⁵ He appeared in the census in 1860 in Madison Township, Madison County, NY.⁷ David appeared in the census in 1870 in Madison Township, Madison County, NY.⁸ His occupation was "Farmer." The value of his Real Estate was $6,500 and that of his Personal Estate was $2,000. He died in 1875 at the age of 52 in Eaton Township, Madison County, NY.³ He was buried in Pratts Hollow, Madison Township, Madison County, NY.³ in the Fairview Cemetery.

David ARITY and Caroline C. HITCHCOCK were married.¹ Caroline C. HITCHCOCK was born in 1830 in Bouckville, Madison County, NY.^5,7 She appeared in the census in 1860 in Madison Township, Madison County, NY.⁷ (Living with her family was James B. Hickock, age 72, born in Massachusetts. That may have been her father--one of her sons was named James B.) She appeared in the census in 1870 in Madison Township, Madison County, NY.⁸ Caroline died on 3 June 1906 at the age of 76.⁵ She was buried in Pratts Hollow, Madison Township, Madison County, NY.⁵ in the Fairview Cemetery.
