Descendants of Friedrich Backhaus, Sr.
Friedrich Backhaus, Sr. and his wife, Friederike Kuhl, emigrated from the Pommern Province of Prussia to Monroe County in the mid-1800’s.
Their sons, Karl and Friedrich, Jr., both settled in that area, marrying into the Matzke and Kuhl families.
