Richard BEEBE (*) was born on 29 October 1781 in New London, New London County, Connecticut Colony, British Colonial America.^10,11,12 His father may have been Joab Beebe, who was listed in the 1790 Census in New London, CT, or one of many of the other Beebe's living in CT at that time. He appeared in the census in 1810 in West Springfield Township, Hampshire County, MA.¹³ His household consisted of 2 males, under 10 years of age (Abner, 8; Austin, 6); 1 male, age 26-45 (Richard, 29); 2 females, under 10 years of age (Unknown Daughter, 4; Lovisa, 1); and 1 female, age 26-45 (Martha, 30). He served in the military about 1812 in Connecticut.⁷ He served in the War of 1812. Richard appeared in the census in 1820 in Chesterfield Township, Hampshire County, MA.¹⁴ His household consisted of 2 males, age 0-10 (Edwin, 5, and John, 3); 1 male, age 10-16 (Austin, 15); 1 male, age 16-18 (Abner, 18); 1 male, age 16-26 (again, Abner, 18); 1 male, age 26-45 (Richard, 39); 2 females, age 0-10 (Chloe, 1, and Laura, 5); 3 females, age 10-16 (Lovisa, 11, and two unknown daughters); and 1 female, age 26-45 (Martha, 40). He appeared in the census in 1830 in Goshen, Hampshire County, MA.^15,16 He was listed as "Richard Beebee" and his household consisted of 1 male, age 5-10 (Thomas, 8); 1 male, age 10-15 (John, 13); 1 male, 15-20 (Edwin, 15); 1 male, 50-60 (Richard, 49); 1 female, 10-15 (Chloe, 11); 1 female, 15-20 (Laura, 15); and 1 female, 50-60 (Martha, 50). Their older children must have moved out of their home, and their daughter Martha must have died before 1830.

His household was not able to be found in the 1840 Census. There was a Richard Beebe family in Sacket's Harbor, Jefferson County, NY, that may have been his, but the ages do not fit exactly. The household consisted of: 1 male, 20-30 (possibly Thomas, 19, or John, 23); 1 male, 50-60 (possibly Richard, 59); 2 females, 10-15 (unknown); 2 females 15-20 (unknown); 1 female, 20-30 (possibly Chloe, 21, or Laura, 25); and 1 female, 40-50 (possibly Martha, 50). He appeared in the census in 1850 in Byron Township, Genesee County, NY.¹⁷ His household consisted of himself, age 61; his daughter, Laura, age 35; and his daughter, Chloe, age 31. His wife had died in 1845. Richard died on 30 March 1856 at the age of 74 in Le Roy, Genesee County, NY.^2,10,12,18

Richard BEEBE (*) and Martha "Patty" THWING (*) were married on 17 March 1800 in Chesterfield, Hampshire County, MA.^{2,12,19,20,21} (Their marriage date may have been 19 Apr 1801.) Martha "Patty" THWING (*), daughter of John THWING and Chloe PACKARD, was born on 2 May 1780 in Chesterfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.^2,10,12 (Her birth date may have been 2 May 1783.) She appeared in the census in 1810 in West Springfield Township, Hampshire County, MA.¹³ She appeared in the census in 1820 in Chesterfield Township, Hampshire County, MA.¹⁴ Patty appeared in the census in 1830 in Goshen, Hampshire County, MA.¹⁵ She died on 29 April 1843 at the age of 62 in Le Roy, Genesee County, NY.^{2,10,12,18,22} She was buried in Le Roy, Genesee County, NY.²² in the Thwing Cemetery.
