78. Diane L. BRANDAU was born on 28 April 1947 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.106,107 She graduated in 1965 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.106 from Tomah High School. She died on 11 February 2010 at the age of 62 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.107 (She died 3 days after her mother.)

Obituary Notes: "Diane L. Snyder, 62, of Tomah, died suddenly Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born April 28, 1947, to Carl and Evelyn (Baus) Brandau at Tomah.

She was a member of the Tomah High School Graduating Class of 1965. She attended college at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She lived in the St. Paul, MN area for many years and later in life settled in various cities on the southern east coast of Florida. Diane had a zest for life, she loved the beautiful sounds and sites of the Florida coast. She spent countless hours enjoying the sun and the sandy beaches, exploring different flea markets. She was a great decorator and could make something look beautiful out of nothing. Diane always looked forward to the yearly family visits from her children and grandchildren, taking them to places like Disneyland and Sea World. During these years, she also developed a close group of traveling friends. She visited different places all over the world. One of her favorite travels was to Thailand, where she fell in love with the local cuisine. In 2004, Diane returned to St. Paul to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. In 2007, she found herself back in Tomah to be closer to her elderly parents. She was a devoted and loving daughter, never regretting the choice to come back to Tomah, the years she spent helping her parents strengthen the loving bond between them. While living in Tomah she worked as a bank teller at the Tomah Area Credit Union.

She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and her kind and gentle heart, her ease at making friends and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Stacy (Marty) Deutsch of Lakeville, MN and Kari (Mark) Wenholz of Mesquite, TX; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Kunesh of St. Paul, MN, Jenna (Jed) Lyons of San Clemente, CA, Zach Kunesh of Winona, MN and Trevor Wenholz of Mesquite, TX; dear devoted Star, a brother, Sonny (Laura) Brandau of Tomah; 3 nieces, Amy (Brian) Brohmer of Tomah, Jessie (Mitch) Elsing of Tomah, Carly Brandau of Tomah; a very special great-niece, Avery Brohmer; 2 aunts, Margaret Parsons of Janesville, WI and Ella Mae Brandau of La Crosse; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, February 13, 2010, 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Tomah. The Very Reverend Steven J. Kachel officiated. Burial will be at a later date.
Relatives and friends called Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of the mass. A prayer service was held Friday at the funeral home at 8:00 P.M. "
