Joseph Henson BRANDENBURG Sr. (+) was born in 1767 in Hampshire County, West Virginia Colony, British Colonial America.^6,9 He appeared in the census in 1850 in Owsley County, KY.⁴ He appeared in the census in 1860 in Owsley County, KY.⁴ Joseph died in 1864 at the age of 97 in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY.^3,4,9 Life Sketch: "He and his wife moved to Clark County, KY and from thence to Owsley County, to the place now known as Heidelberg, KY. He died at his old home place at the age of 90 years, his wife having died about eight years previous." He was buried in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY.³ in the Brandenburg Fontaine Cemetery.

Joseph Henson BRANDENBURG Sr. (+) and Delilah VESSER (+) were married on 19 September 1796 in Winchester, Clark County, KY.^4,6,9 Delilah VESSER (+), daughter of Benjamin Abraham VESSER and Rhoda HARRIS, was born on 1 September 1771 in Amelia County, Virginia Colony, British Colonial America.^3,4,9 She died on 20 March 1856 at the age of 84 in Owsley County, KY.^3,4,9 She was buried in Heidelberg, Lee County, KY.^3,4 in the Brandenburg Cemetery. (Her given name may have been "Delia.")
