(Unknown) Brieske was born in Prussia around 1800 and is the earliest-known ancestor of the hundreds of Brieske family members that have lived in the Tomah area of Monroe County, WI.

His two sons, Joseph and Michael are the earliest-identified heads of the two major ancestral lines.

The families most likely originated in the Pomerania area of Prussia, near and bordering on the Baltic Sea.
