Robert Coome was born in England in 1814. He and his wife, Maria, were the maternal great-grandparents of Rollie Vandervort, who married Mattie Cordelia Griggs in Monroe County in 1908.
Mattie was a daughter of Clarence Lucius Griggs and Carrie Permelia Griswold.
