42. Robert Douglas SCHROEDER was born on 11 March 1925 in Monroe County, WI.²⁰ He died on 22 June 2006 at the age of 81 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.

Obituary Notes: "Robert D. Schroeder, 81, of Tomah, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the Serenity House. He was born March 11, 1925, in Monroe County to Albert and Mary (Densmore) Schroeder. Robert was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944, serving in WW II, and received his honorable discharge in 1946. He was united in marriage to Margaret Rudolph on Oct. 30, 1948, at St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Knapp. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Nickles Electric as an electrician. He also farmed. He was a 50-year member of IBEW Local 159. He was a lifetime member of the Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201 and Curtis McNutt V.F.W. Post #1382. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife Margaret of 58 years; two daughters, Linda (James) Newgard of New Berlin and Diana (Robert) Eith of Verona; a son, David (Linda) of Mounds View, MN; six grandchildren, Scott Eith of Belleville, Tammy (Brian) Genelin of Scott AFB, IL, Vicki and Lori of Mounds View, MN, and Jeffrey and Timothy Newgard of New Berlin; a great-granddaughter, Grace Marie Genelin; two brothers, Roger of Casper, WY, and Richard of Tomah; a sister, Rosella Richmond of Tunnel City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Charlotte, and a brother-in-law, Russell Richmond.

Funeral services were held (today) Monday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church at Kirby. Pastor Phillip M. Enderle officiated. Burial was in the Warren-Mills Cemetery with military honors by Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201."
