(The 1900 Census listed her birth date as May 1833 and her and her parents' birth place as "Canada Fr." Other sources list her birth place as New York.) She appeared in the census in 1900 in Sheldon Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,14 She was living in the household of her son, Joseph.) She died on 18 January 1913 at the age of 77.^1,5 Harriet was buried in Norwalk, Monroe County, WI.⁵ in the Wanderer's Rest Cemetery. (The cemetery records spell her married surname as "Markburger," but on the family gravestone it is spelled "Marburger.")
