Descendants of Christopher Doughtie

Christopher Doughtie was born in about 1474 in Derby County, England. His great-great-great-grandson, Edward Planter Doty, was a passenger on the Mayflower when it landed in New England in 1620. (See his story on this website at the link for Tomah Mayflower Families.)

One of Edward's descendants was Ella Jane Doten, and she married Clarence Franklin Webb in Wellington Township in 1881. One of their daughters, Mary Elizabeth Webb, married Franklin George Wadephul and they were important elements forthe Doughtie/Doty/Doten family descendants in Monroe County.
