20. Francis "Frank" FERRIES Sr. was born in August 1840 in Pennsylvania.^{1,6,9,14,31,37} His gravestone appears to list his birh year as 1843, but it is not clear. The 1850 Census listed his age as 11 and the 1860 listed it as 20, indicating a birth year of about 1839 or 1840. The 1870 Census listed it as 26, indicating 1844. The 1880 Census listed it as 42, indicating 1838.

The 1850 Census listed his birth place as Pennsylvania. He appeared in the census in 1850 in Paris Township, Kenosha County, WI.¹⁴ He appeared in the census in 1855 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ Frank appeared in the census in 1860 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ He is listed as a farm laborer. (His surname was listed as "Ferris,")

He and his family were living with his father, William J. and his second wife, Lovisa. Francis' family consisted of himself, his wife Huldah and their children, Samuel and W. H.

His "family" also included John Ferris, age 10, born in Pennsylvania. That child would have been too old to have been their child, so it may have been another relative. It is not known which members of the Ferris family lived in Pennsylvania, although the birth place of Francis' brother William H. was also listed as Pennsylvania in the 1860 Census. That is believed to have been an error. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ (His surname was listed as "Farris.") He appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^9,31 His occupation was listed as "Farmer." They must have moved for a few years, because the 1900 Census listed them as back in Wilton Township. Frank appeared in the census in 1900 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.³¹ He was living with his nephew William and his wife Augusta and their three children. He was listed as a widower. He appeared in the census in 1905 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁰ He was living with his nephew William and his family and his occupation was listed as "Retired Farmer." He died on 13 September 1907 at the age of 67 in Monroe County, WI.^35,40,51 Frank was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁷ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Francis "Frank" FERRIES Sr. and Huldah M. HOSTETTER were married about 1856 in Wisconsin.³ Huldah M. HOSTETTER¹ was born about 1840 in New York.^6,8,9,35,52 (Her birth place is listed as Wisconsin in the 1860 Census, but as New York in 1870.) She appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ Huldah died on 13 October 1883 at the age of 43.^35,52 (Her gravestone lists her date of death as 18 Oct 1884.) She was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁷ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Francis "Frank" FERRIES Sr. and Huldah M. HOSTETTER had the following children:

He appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ He appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁹ Francis died on 13 February 1885 at the age of 22.³⁵ He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁵ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

33	v.	Len FERRIES was born on 30 January 1881.³⁷ He is buried in the same cemetery lot as Frank and Huldah and their sons William and Frank, so they were probably his parents. He died on 14 October 1881 at the age of 0.³⁷ He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁷ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
