51. Sophia Ella FRIESKE³¹ was born on 6 August 1907 in Wisconsin.¹⁵ (According to the 1930 Census, her father was born in Germany and her mother in Wisconsin.) She appeared in the census in 1910 in Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ Before 1930 Sophia was an a teacher in the Oil City Public School in Oil City, Sheldon Township, Monroe County, WI.³² "One time when Sophia stayed with the Jessa Shippee, she and Dorothy Shippee, a daughter and one of her students, went to the barn. A hired man liked to tease women, so Sophia reached into the pig feed barrel, which they had just filled with skim milk from the separator, and took out a large handful of the foam. When the hired man came through the gate, he got it in the face." She appeared in the census in 1930 in Oil City, Sheldon Township, Monroe County, WI.^15,32 She was a "Boarder" in the household of Julius and Myrtle Buchholz and her occupation was "Teacher, Public School." She died on 5 July 1960 at the age of 52 in Kendall, Glendale Township, Monroe County, WI.^6,24 Sophia was buried in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.^6,33 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Sophia Ella FRIESKE and Arthur GENZ were married on 29 May 1938 in Monroe County, WI.^24,31,33 Arthur GENZ, son of Carl W. GENZ and Auguste VERWIEBE, was born on 24 February 1903 in Wisconsin.^16,33 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁶ He died on 3 August 1964 at the age of 61.³³ Arthur was buried in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.^33,34 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
