Herman appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ He and his wife and children were living with her parents and his occupaton was "Laborer, Tobacco Factory." He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ He died on 8 March 1964 at the age of 75.^9,20,22
