38. Friedrich August Ludwig "Fred" GERKE was born on 10 July 1877 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.^20,145 (His birth date is listed as 10 June in his church confirmation record.) He appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ (He was living with his mother and step-father.) He was confirmed on 22 March 1891 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁰ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Fred appeared in the census in 1900 in Hamburg Township, Wells County, ND.¹⁴⁶ He was living in the household of Christ and Carrie Zellmer. He appeared in the census in 1910 in Voltaire Township, McHenry County, ND.¹⁴⁷ He died before December 1968 at the age of 91.²¹
