16. Mary Elizabeth "Liz" GILLETTE was born in June 1848 in Wisconsin.^1,25 (The 1850 Census listed her as age 2, so she was probably born in 1848. The 1900 Census listed her birth date as June 1843 and her birth place as New York.) She appeared in the census in 1900 in Delavan, Walworth County, WI.²⁵ (She was living next door to Abigail Vandervort Flint at 608 Geneva Street.)

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" GILLETTE and Francis Peter "Frank" RYDER were married on 12 January 1873 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.^26,27 Their witnesses were Alonzo Gillett and Mary J. Rider (his sister). Francis Peter "Frank" RYDER, son of Charles Willett RYDER and Sarah Ann W. MOON, was born on 13 July 1848 in Merton, Waukesha County, WI.^26,27,28 He lived at his family home in Oconomowoc Township, Waukesha County, WI in June 1860.²⁸ He appeared in the census in 1870 in Big Flats Township, Adams County, WI.²⁹ His occupation was listed as "Farmer." In 1873 Frank was a farmer in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.²⁷

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" GILLETTE and Francis Peter "Frank" RYDER had the following children:

Mary Elizabeth "Liz" GILLETTE and Simeon A. HICKOK were married on 18 February 1866 in Webster Township, Vernon County, WI.³⁰ Simeon A. HICKOK, son of Hiram A. HICKOK and Mary Ann HANCHETT, was born on 2 February 1848 in Maine, Broome County, NY.^2,30 He died on 5 June 1881 at the age of 33 in Elgin, Kane County, IL.²
