Robinette, 92, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, at the Tomah Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 16, 1920, to George and Amanda (Johnson) Gillette on the Gillette family farm in Warrens. Fern was a 1938 graduate of Tomah High School. She then attended beauty school in Milwaukee. Fern met her future husband, Alston “Robin” Robinette at a 4th of July celebration in Sparta in 1941 while he was stationed at Volk Field. They were united in marriage Nov. 7, 1942, in Sedalia, Missouri. Fern and Robin made their home in Warrens where they raised their three children, Carol, Janey and Barth. She was active in the Warrens community and she recently received an award for being the oldest volunteer of the Warrens Cranberry Festival. Fern enjoyed her years as a beautician. In her spare time she loved to dance, bake, sew and cut and style hair. She is survived by three children, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Carol (Robert) Bartlett of Anchorage, Alaska and their daughter, Robin Bartlett; her daughter, Janey (David) Kimpton of Warrens, and their children; Kristi (Mark) Betthauser and their children; Maci and Brandon Betthauser all of Tomah; Jodi (Bill) Pierce and their children, Hunter and Jairon Pierce all of Tomah; her son, Barth (Cindy) Robinette and their children; Summer (Joseph) Minney and their daughter; Mizara Minney of Plumas Lake, Calif.; Brittany (Robert) Taylor and children, Destini Robinette and Leanna Ludke all of Warrens; Ciji (Jonathon) Parker and their daughter, Danae Parker of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Isaac (Miranda) Robinette and children, Caden Daniels and Ryder Robinette all of Tomah; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Amanda; her husband, Alston “Robin” Robinette Jr; her sister, Lila Potter; her brother, Warren Gillett; brothers-in-law, Gerald Potter and John Robinette and sisters-in-law, Ruth Gillett and Virginia Robinette; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mary and Alston Robinette Sr. A private family graveside service was at the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens."
