Leonhardt Georg "Lee" KOENINGER Sr.¹ was born on 3 July 1821 in Bayern (Bavaria) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^2,3 (His given name is listed as "Leonard" on the Marriage Certificate of his son Leonard, Jr.) He emigrated in 1853 from Bayern (Bavaria) Province, Preussen (Prussia).¹ He and his future wife traveled to America on the same ship, and arrived at the port of Baltimore. They married three weeks after disembarking.
