305. Gene Arland SHAFFER¹ was born on 15 June 1936 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴²⁰ He died on 10 May 2012 at the age of 75 in Texas.⁴²⁰

Obituary Notes: "Gene Shaffer entered eternal life on May 10, 2012, after his long battle with cancer. Gene was born on June 15, 1936, to Dale Shaffer and Mabel Hubert Shaffer in Tomah.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Gary; and is survived by elder sister Donna Shaffer Jester; younger sister Sandra Shaffer Amdahl; wife Joan Czechowski Shaffer of Texas; son Tim Shaffer of Milwaukee; daughter Amy Shaffer Witterholt of Pewaukee; and granddaughters Ariana and Mya.
Gene served in the National Guard and worked as a steamfitter for Grunau Company for most of his working career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and being with his family and friends. Gene retired in 1999 and moved to Redgranite. After he met his wife Joan, they moved to Colorado for a couple of years then moved to Texas, where he passed. Gene was a member of the Lutheran faith.
