On July 3, 1983, he was united in marriage to Susan L. McCurdy in Tomah. Bruce resided in the Tomah area for several years. Prior to retirement he was working as a lead cook at Fort McCoy, in which he loved. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sue of Tomah, daughters, Gretchen, and Michelle, son, Adrian, several grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces, other family members, and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings.
