Connie JENSEN⁵⁴ was born on 28 June 1963.⁵⁴ She died on 16 November 2024 at the age of 61 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁵⁴ Obituary Notes: "Connie (Jensen) Summerfield, age 61, passed away on November 16, 2024, at Serenity House in Tomah from pancreatic cancer. Connie Elizabeth was born June 28, 1963, to Genevieve (Samz) and Gerald Jensen. Though Connie was born prematurely, she had a strong constitution. As their miracle baby, Connie was the apple of her parents’ eyes. Because her brothers, Dick and Eric, were over 9 years older, they looked after their baby sister (and teased her a little bit, too) with love.
Connie and James Summerfield were married on May 9, 1998. Jim’s sister, Donna (who worked with Connie), arranged for these two kind spirits to meet on a blind date. Connie had a flair for making their country home warm with her primitive collections. She loved flowers and always had seasonal decorations, flowers and plants in their yard. Connie’s favorite spot was sitting on the porch with Jim, having her coffee, and enjoying the beautiful countryside.

Near and dear to Connie were friends who were like family, and all the adventures they shared. Bev Gonzales, who brought many delicious treats for Connie and Jim; Kim Rapala and their shopping trips for antiques, which Connie loved; and Bertie Dietzman, who shared decades of holiday excursions and unwavering support during Connie’s ultimate journey. Connie’s 34-year career at Walmart made her a familiar face with a smile and a helping hand. She was someone her co-workers could always count on.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Gen and Jerry, her brother, Dick; parents-in-law Evan and Helen Summerfield, sister-in-law Sandy Summerfield and brother-in-law Paul Klinzing.

Connie is survived by her husband Jim; her Jensen family: sister-in-law Linda Jensen; brother Eric (Candace) Jensen; niece Megan Jensen (John Dingman); nephew Clint Jensen (Martha Gavinski) and great-niece Madelyn Dingman. Connie is also survived by her Summerfield family: sisters and brothers-in-law David (Laurie) Summerfield; Marjorie Klinzing; Nancy (Steve) Laabs; Donna Rueckheim; Kevin Summerfield; and Brian (Melissa) Summerfield, along with 12 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews. Donna, Miranda, Nathan, Ellyn and Adaly Rueckheim hold a special place in Connie’s heart.

Thank you to the Serenity House staff for their tender care of Connie in her final weeks. A private committal ceremony will be held. A time for friends to celebrate Connie with her family is pending.
