Descendants of Baron Thomas li de Bassett

Baron Thomas li de Bassett is an early ancestor of the Bassett families of Monroe County. He was born in about 1120 in Nottinghamshire, England, and has royal ancestors that professional genealogists have traced to the 700's in England.

One of his descendants was Lola Nettie Bassett, who was born in 1889 and married Elijah Newton "Dick" Williams in 1908 in Tomah. One of their daughters, Virginia Mae Williams married Glenn Lester Griggs in 1946.
