(The 1870 Census of Jefferson Township, Jefferson County, WI contains the household of Charles Prell, age 47. That may have been his brother. Charles' family consisted of his wife Annake (?), age 47, and their children, John, 21; Adam, 18; George, 15; Catherine, 13; William, 11; and Rudolph, 9. Charles and his wife were born in Bavaria, but their children were all born in Wisconsin, so they probably emigrated in about 1849--around the same time that George and his wife came to America.)

He and his wife lived there, rasing their family of nine children--Margaret, Kate, Lawrence, Jacob, Elizabeth, Minnie, George, Jr., Caroline and William.
