John appeared in the census in 1905 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶ He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ His household was on Stoughton Street and his occupation was listed as "plastering." (His surname was spelled "Prise.") He appeared in the census in 1920 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.²⁴ His household was at 831 Rose Street and his occupation was listed as "Mason, Stone." His household consisted of John, Emma and their children, Luella, Leona, Violet, Irwin and Lillian. (Luella was John's daughter from his first marriage.) (His appears to spelled "Prize," but it is listed as "Kinze" in the Ancestry.com search index.) John appeared in the census in 1930 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI.²⁵ His household was at 918 Liberty Street and his occupation was listed as "Stone Mason, Own Shop." (His family's surname was listed as "Prise.") He died on 1 January 1952 at the age of 79 in La Crosse, La Crosse County, WI. He may be buried in Holmen.
