3. Christoph "Christ" PROTZ was born on 10 December 1853 in Hammer, Kreis Czarnikau, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).3,5,6,7 (The Oak Grove Cemetery records list his birth year as 1853.)

Kreis Czarnikau was one of many Kreise (counties) in Regierungsbezirk Bromberg, in the Prussian Province of Posen. It existed from 1816 to 1920 and had its capital at Czarnikau. Today, the area of this district belongs to Poland  and is part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship.

On January 1, 1818, the new district of Chodziesen (later renamed Kolmar in Posen) was formed from the eastern part of the Czarnikau district. On October 1, 1887, the new Filehne district was formed from the western part of the Czarnikau district. He was christened on 11 December 1853 in Kreis Czarnikau, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).3 He immigrated on 30 May 1888 to Baltimore (City), MD.3 Christ appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.5 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.8 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.9 Christ appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10 He died on 6 September 1932 at the age of 78 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.3 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.3 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Christoph "Christ" PROTZ and Emilia Auguste "Amelia" LEIGE were married on 21 November 1876 in Kreis Czarnikau, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).3,5,11 Emilia Auguste "Amelia" LEIGE, daughter of August LEIGE and Julianne Auguste SCHROEDER, was born on 18 October 1851 in Preussen (Prussia).8 She was baptized on 2 November 1851 in Westpreussen (West Prussia) Province, Preussen (Prussia).12 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.8 Amelia appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.9 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10 She died on 10 September 1935 at the age of 83. Amelia was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.6 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
