1. Carl Wilhelm "Charles" RAABE Sr. was born on 15 August 1823 in Nimmersatt, Memel, Ost Preussen (East Prussia), Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,3 (His brother may have been Friedrich M. Raabe, who was born in Preussen in about 1819.) He emigrated on 29 June 1854 from Preussen (Prussia).⁴ He appeared in the census in 1860 in Germantown Township, Juneau County, WI.⁴ Charles appeared in the census in 1880 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.² His occupation was "Farmer." He died on 15 June 1898 at the age of 74 in Monroe County, WI.^1,4 He was buried in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,5 in the Oakdale Township Cemetery.

Carl Wilhelm "Charles" RAABE Sr. and Johanna Bertha UNKNOWN (RAABE) were married before 1845 in Preussen (Prussia).^1,4 According to her obituary, she had two sons and one daughter. Johanna Bertha UNKNOWN (RAABE) was born on 8 June 1820 in Nimmersatt, Memel, Ost Preussen (East Prussia), Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,4 (She was listed as "Bertha" in the 1880 Census.) She emigrated on 29 June 1854 from Preussen (Prussia).⁴ She appeared in the census in 1860 in Germantown Township, Juneau County, WI.⁴ Johanna appeared in the census in 1880 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.² She died on 14 January 1888 at the age of 67 in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,6 (She may have died 18 Jan 1888.) She was buried in Oakdale Township, Monroe County, WI.^1,5 in the Oakdale Township Cemetery.
