121. Bernice Helen DEICHLER206 was born on 19 November 1923 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.59,207 She died on 1 December 2010 at the age of 87 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.207

Obituary Notes: "Berneice Helen Hunter passed away on Dec. 1, 2010, at Serenity House in Tomah. She was born Berneice Helen Deichler on Nov. 19, 1923, in the family home, town of Clifton to Herman and Alice (Schermerhorn Olsen) Deichler. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on Aug. 22, 1937, at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Indian Creek. She was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. She graduated from Kendall high school on May 15, 1942. After high school she moved to Chicago to work at Midwest Molding & Mfg. Company. She moved back to Wisconsin and married Leonard Hunter on Dec. 7, 1952. They later divorced. She worked in housekeeping at the Sherman House hotel until 1960 and as an inspector at Northern Engraving in Sparta for 28 years. Her greatest joys included her family, raising her birds, bunnies and puppies, making and collecting dolls, sewing, knitting, working in her garden, spending time with her dear friends, and going to the Amish auctions. Even when cancer was taking a toll on her life, she found joy in trips to Manitowoc to see Lake Michigan, to Gays Mills to get her favorite apples, and attending an Amish auction in Cashton. In late September she became a member of the Serenity House Family, and found comfort and strength with her loving and caring caregivers to face each day with a smile. They were always there for Mom and made it possible for her family to feel right at home day and night, with their cookies, cakes and comfort whenever they needed it. Mom looked forward to joining her loving Savior and is now free from the pain and suffering that she endured with such courage and dignity.

Survivors include her much beloved daughter and son-in-law Judy and John Froelich of Tomah. She loved dearly her five grandchildren, Darren (Stephanie), Eric, Sean, Elizabeth, and Jennifer. She thought the world of her great- grandson, Scott Froelich of Tomah. She is further survived be one sister-in-law Bernice Olsen of Tomah, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed by her poodle, Suzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Neil, Chester, and Louis, and sisters; Margaret and Mabel.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, 1 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tomah. Pastor David T. Brandt officiated. Burial followed in the Farmers Valley Cemetery. Relatives and friends called on Sunday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service."
