Herman John DEICHLER was born on 20 August 1873 in Monroe County, WI.4,7,10,28 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.28 He died on 6 November 1957 at the age of 84 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.10,42 Obituary Notes: "Herman John Deichler was born August 20, 1873, in the town of Clifton.

In 1914 he was united in marriage to Alice Schermerhorn Oleson. Most of his life was spent farming in Clifton until the last few years when he went to live at his nephew's farm near Tomah.

Death came suddenly of a heart attach at the age of 84 years. His wife preceded him in death four years previous.

Survivors of the deceased include Lewis Deichler, Sparta; Mrs. Art Moore, Chicago; Mrs. Leonard Hunter, Tomah; Mrs. Archie Grant, Tunnel City; Neil Olson, Oakdale; Chester Olson, Wilton; one brother Albert Deichler, Clifton; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Meyers of Rockland, Mrs. Louise Berhardt of Florida; 18 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Nov. 9 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Tomah with Rev. C. J. Dahlke officiating.

Burial was in the town of Clifton Cemetery." Herman was buried on 9 November 1957 in Clifton Township, Monroe County, WI.10,40 in the Clifton Township Cemetery.

Herman John DEICHLER and Alice Mary SCHERMERHORN were married in 1914.10,116,117 Alice Mary SCHERMERHORN, daughter of Chester SCHERMERHORN and Hannah WOODLIFF, was born on 29 October 1881 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.28,118,119 in Farmers Valley. She appeared in the census in 1920 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.28 She died on 26 July 1953 at the age of 71 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.118 Alice was buried on 29 July 1953 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.42,118 in the Farmer's Valley Cemetery.
