Most of his life was spent farming in Clifton until the last few years when he went to live at his nephew's farm near Tomah. Death came suddenly of a heart attach at the age of 84 years. His wife preceded him in death four years previous. Survivors of the deceased include Lewis Deichler, Sparta; Mrs. Art Moore, Chicago; Mrs. Leonard Hunter, Tomah; Mrs. Archie Grant, Tunnel City; Neil Olson, Oakdale; Chester Olson, Wilton; one brother Albert Deichler, Clifton; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Meyers of Rockland, Mrs. Louise Berhardt of Florida; 18 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Nov. 9 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church at Tomah with Rev. C. J. Dahlke officiating. Burial was in the town of Clifton Cemetery."
