57. Douglas Dean "Doug" RODER Sr.¹⁴⁹ was born on 18 July 1928 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^58,59,149 He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³⁵ He died on 30 September 2011 at the age of 83 in Mauston, Juneau County, WI.¹⁴⁹

Obituary Notes: "Douglas "Doug" Roder, 83, of Necedah, passed away Sept. 30, 2011 at the Fairview Nursing Home in Mauston. He was born July 18, 1928 to William and Pearl Ann (Johnson) Roder in Tomah. He was proud to be a veteran of the Korean War US Army.

Doug married June Rose Toman in 1951. They were married until her death in 1981. He farmed the family farm and worked at NEPCO (Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company) until his retirement in the early 1990's. Doug loved farming and he had a nice collection of die-cast tractors and trains, along with many full size tractors. He loved to tinker with and fix engines. He was able to fix just about any equipment needing work done on it. Doug also did beautiful woodworking and enjoyed dancing.

Doug is survived by a son, Douglas A. (Cindy) Roder of Adams; grandchildren, Tammy, Kelly and Daniel Roder; sisters, Wilma Buchanan of New Lisbon and Dora Modjeski of Washington state; a step-brother, Wayne Adams of Wisconsin; along with other relatives and friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his wife, June, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church in Necedah. Pastor Michael Nielsen will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at Bayview Cemetery in Necedah. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church."

Douglas Dean "Doug" RODER Sr. and June Rose TOMAN were married on 24 September 1951.¹⁵⁰ June Rose TOMAN, daughter of Frank TOMAN and Rose KONBEREC, was born on 24 June 1923 in Juneau County, WI.¹⁵⁰ She died in 1981 at the age of 58.¹⁵¹
