14. William Frederick ROEDER was born on 22 December 1868 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.6,10 in Bear Creek. (His surname was spelled "Roder" in his obituary; it is also listed that way in the Oak Grove Cemetery records.) He appeared in the census in 1870 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.9 He appeared in the census in 1880 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.13 William appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.11 His occupation was "Farmer." He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.27 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.28,57 His household consisted of himself; his son, Melvin; a servant, Mabel Payne, age 30; and her son, James, 6. William was listed as a widower, but that was an error because he had divorced prior to the Census. His occupation was "Farmer, General." William appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.35 He died on 25 January 1941 at the age of 72 in Bear Creek, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10,33

Obituary Notes: "As Mr. W. F. Roeder was about doing his evening chores, Friday, Jan. 24, between 4 and 6 P.M., he was stricken with a severe stroke of paralysis. When he didn't come to the house for supper, Mrs. Roeder went to see why and found him lying in the feed alley of the barn, unconscious. Aid was summoned by he was beyond help. He passed peacefully away Saturday morning at 10:15.

Mr. Roeder spent his entire life in our valley and was a member of the school board for 33 years and was the justice of the peace in the town of Tomah for a great many years. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community."

William Frederick ROEDER and Daisy Eleanora LEINHOOP were married on 9 March 1898 in Monroe County, WI.10,41,57 They10,41,57 were divorced in October 1916 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.28,57,58 Daisy Eleanora LEINHOOP, daughter of John LEINHOOP and Anna SCHLICHTMAN, was born on 27 April 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.4,7,13 She appeared in the census in 1900 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.11 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.27 Daisy appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.35 She was listed as a "Servant" in the household of Leslie Harper at 120 Milwaukee Street. She was listed as "divorced" and her surname was spelled "Roder." (The "household" appears to have been a hotel, as there were many servants living there.) She died on 1 August 1954 at the age of 74 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.7,10,33 after a 3-day stay at the Monroe County Infirmary.

Obituary Notes: "Mrs. Daisy Roder, 74, died Sunday afternoon after a short illness. She was born on April 27, 1880, in the Norwalk area. She was the daughter of John and Anna Leinhoop.

On March 8, 1898, she was married to Wm. Roder. To this union two children were born. In her later years she was a resident of Tomah. She is survived by her daughter, (Gladys) Mrs. Floyd Livangood, Sparta, and a son, Melvin Roder of the Philippine Islands; a sister, Mrs. William Corbin of Arlington, Iowa; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren." She was buried on 4 August 1954 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.6,7,10,33 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

JOHNSON and Mary KEELER, was born on 27 April 1902 in Leon Township, Monroe County, WI.10,58 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Grant Township, Monroe County, WI.27 She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.35 She and her son Douglas were "boarders" at the home of her future husband, William Roeder. Pearl died on 27 June 1990 at the age of 88 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.10,58 She was buried on 30 June 1990 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.7,10,29 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
