Louie appeared in the census in 1950 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.24 His household was on County Highway U and his occupation was "Farmer, Farm." He was born Nov. 5, 1912, to William and Ida (Pergande) Schaefer in Ridgeville, Monroe County, Wis. He was united in marriage to Eleanora Eckelberg on April 17, 1938. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Kenneth, Alice, Karon and Sandra.

Louis worked at farming all his life. He was very active during that time and after he retired in the community. He served on his church council, school and town boards. In recent years, he enjoyed his senior citizen activities.

He is survived by Kenneth of the Philippines, Alice Seddon (Frank Rumppe) of Kendall, Wis., Karon (Roland) Jones of Sleepy Eye, Minn., Sandra Schaefer of Norwalk, Bertha (Isadore) Geier of Sparta, Wis., grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanora; a great grandson, Joshua Robertson; two sons-in-law, James Larson and Earl Seddon; three brothers, Leo, August and Gerhardt; and a sister, Martha Schulz.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Jacob's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norwalk. Pastor Mark T. Panning will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Tomah.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 East Monowau Street, Tomah, on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service."
He was buried on 14 January 2004 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.25 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

Eleonora Elisabeth ECKELBERG, daughter of Arthur Alfred ECKELBERG and Elizabeth HUBERT, was born on 13 June 1917 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.13,18,25,58,60 She was baptized on 8 July 1917 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.60 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1920 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.2 Eleonora appeared in the census in 1930 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.22 She was living with her paternal grandparents. She appeared in the census in 1940 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.16 She appeared in the census in 1950 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.24 Eleonora died on 16 December 1996 at the age of 79 in Sparta, Sparta Township, Monroe County, WI.25 She was buried on 19 December 1996 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.25,61 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
