Ina Elizabeth SCHAMENS was born on 25 January 1909 in Bryant, Hamlin County, SD.^6,36 She appeared in the census in 1910 in Dixon Township, Hamlin County, SD.³⁶ She appeared in the census in 1920 in Dixon Township, Hamlin County, SD.³⁵ Ina died on 8 December 2002 at the age of 93 in De Smet, Kingsbury County, SD.⁶ She was buried on 11 December 2002 in Bryant, Hamlin County, SD.²² in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ina Elizabeth SCHAMENS and Axel Henry "Swede" CARLSON were married on 26 November 1930.⁶ Axel Henry "Swede" CARLSON was born on 13 September 1908.⁶ He died on 16 March 1963 at the age of 54 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN.⁶

Obituary Notes: "Axel (Swede) Carlson was married to Ina Elizabeth Schamens Nov. 26, 1930 at Hayti. Ina is the daughter of August and Otilda Schamens, born Jan. 25, 1909, near Bryant. They lived on the Henry Carlson farm for three years. After moving to Bryant, Swede worked for Grant VanSchoiack in the hardware business. Later he went into the oil business with Wayne Patterson, operating the service station known as Patterson and Carlson. Swide and Ina moved to Minneapolis in 1945, after the sale of the station to the Farmers Union.

Swede and Ina had one daughter, Donna Marie.

Swede died March 16, 1963, and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery at Bryant. Ina retired in June 1972, moving back to Bryant after 30 years of working in the grocery business, first at Wards Store in Bryant and later in Minneapolis. She is a member of the Clara Lutheran Church, rural Erwin.

Donna was married to Lyle Muser of Erwin on Sept. 18, 1949, at the American Lutheran Church in Bryant. This was the last wedding held in the old church before being remodeled and having a basement put under it. Lyle and Donna live on a farm south of Erwin and have four children: Kathryn (Mrs. Richard Labinus) of Platte, Marlene (Mrs. Randall Knutson) of Lily, Susan (Mrs. Kenneth Dolph) of Sandy, Utah, and William of DeSmet."
