She was born Sept. 21, 1923, to Albert and Anna (Gurske) Sonnenburg in the Town of Ridgeville. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Betcher Feb. 17, 1944. He preceded her in death May 16, 1965. She worked several years at Tillman Produce in Wilton. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Cram’s Super Market and DJ’s Grocery in Tomah. Lucille was a faithful member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially the time spent with her grandchildren. Lucille was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by two sons, Keith (Jolene) of Tomah and Kurt (Sandy) of Los Gatos, CA; four grandchildren, Troy (Erin) Betcher of Eau Claire, Amy (Ryan ) Burkhalter of Sparta and Jessica and Tyler Betcher, both of Los Gatos, CA; three great-grandchildren, Luke Betcher, Kim and Kyle Burkhalter; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and special friends Bernice Creviston and Edna Eckelberg of Tomah. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth; a special friend William Pahnke; two brothers, Elmer and Marvin, and two sisters, Helen Peth and Irma Krause. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Ave., Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Wilton. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, and at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Tomah, on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service."
