1. Friedrich Wilhelm "Fred" SONNENBURG1 was born on 31 December 1813 in Preussen (Prussia).2,3,4,5,6 The 1900 Census listed his birth date as December 1814 and his age as 85. The 1880 Census appears to list his age as 64, indicating a birth year of about 1815. The 1905 Wisconsin Census listed his age as 92, indicating a birth year of about 1813.

(It is possible that Friedrich was related to Ludwig Sonnenberg, a son of Gottfried Sonnenberg (note "berg" vs. "burg"). Ludwig was born in 1822 in Preussen and emigrated to America in 1882, settling in the Wellington Township area of Monroe County, WI. Ludwig was a son of Gottfried Sonnenberg, whose daughter Karoline remained in Buffalo, NY.

Friedrich may also have been related to Friedrich Sonnenberg, Sr., who was born in 1822 in Preussen. Friedrich, Sr., emigrated to Monroe County in 1873 and also lived in the Greenfield Township area.

Friedrich Sonnenburg, Ludwig Sonnenberg and Friedrich Sonnenburg, Sr., accounted for all of the Sonnenberg and Sonnenburg families that lived in the Monroe County.)

Fred appeared in the census in 1880 in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.2 He and his wife were living with their daughter Henrietta and her husband. His occupation was listed as "Farmer." He appeared in the census in 1900 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.3 He was listed as a "Widower" and was living with his daughter Henrietta and her husband. (His surname was spelled "Sunnenburg.")

(His gravestone cannot be located in any cemetery in Monroe County.) Fred appeared in the census in 1905 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.5 He was living with his daughter Henrietta and her husband. He died on 16 March 1907 at the age of 93 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.6 He was buried in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.6 in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Friedrich Wilhelm "Fred" SONNENBURG and Henriette FANDREI were married on 5 February 1837 in Brostowo, Kreis Wirsitz, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,8 Henriette FANDREI9 was born in 1810 in Kreis Wirsitz, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,2 (She was listed as age 71 in the 1880 Census.) She appeared in the census in 1880 in Tunnel City, Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.2 She died before 1900 at the age of 90.3,7 (Her husband was listed as a "Widower" in the 1900 Census. Her gravestone cannot be located in any of the Monroe County cemeteries.)
