36. Robert Roy STORKEL Sr. was born on 24 February 1938 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁷ He died on 14 October 2023 at the age of 85.⁴⁸ Obituary Notes: "Robert Roy Storkel Sr, 85 fell asleep in death to await a resurrection, surrounded by his loving family on October 14, 2023.

Bob was born to Virginia and Gilbert Storkel on February 24, 1938. He graduated from Tomah High School. He married the love of his life, Madeline Kay Meyers on September 10, 1960. They had a very happy union for 63 years.

Bob grew up in Tomah, he worked in the family hardware store until establishing his own business - Storkel Heating and Cooling. He continued working for the community and keeping everyone warm until he was 70 years old and began enjoying his retirement.

Bob and Madeline had many wonderful adventures travelling with family and friends over the years. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, and trap shooting were his passions. Bob found great joy in his family, they were the light of his life. He was particularly entertained by his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Bob's sense of humor was second to none! His sweet tooth kept his great grandkids close, they knew where to come for a treat!

Bob was a man of strong faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He believed he will be with his family again and never wavered in his convictions.

Bob is survived by his wife Madeline. His four children: Robin (Dan) Reid, Robert Storkel Jr, Lisa (Skip) Kuhl, Kim (Travis) Frafjord. 11 Grandchildren: Tyler, Brandon and Danielle Reid, Dustin, Shayla, and Sean Storkel, Breanna Garcia, Taylor Peterson, Michael, Tyler, and Austin Frafjord. And 10 Great Grandchildren: Ava and Iris MacPhetridge, Ryker, Liv and Madeline Athnos, Izabela, Fynlee and Lincoln Garcia, Myles Storkel, and Charlie Reid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Joshua Kuhl and his siblings, Gary Storkel and Karen Steinmetz.

The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the care Bob received and the kindness shown not only to Bob, but the entire extended family while in the hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, 5:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday."

Robert Roy STORKEL Sr. and Madeline Kay MEYER were married on 10 September 1960.² Madeline Kay MEYER, daughter of Howard Melvin MEYERS and Mary Katherine ROBARGE, was born on 12 May 1943 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,13,24 (Her surname is spelled "Meyer" in the birth registration index, but as "Meyers" in other sources.)
