She died on 18 December 1989 at the age of 73 in Black River Falls, Jackson County, WI.28 Obituary Notes: "Virginia May Storkel, 73, died Wed., Dec. 13 in the Tomah Care Center. She was born May 19, 1916 in Greenfield township to Clarence and Mae (Schell) Yonkey. She married Gilbert W. Storkel Jan. 1, 1936 in Lake County, Ill. and lived in Tomah all of their married life. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert, of Tomah; two sons, Robert and Gary of Tomah; and one daughter, Karen Steinmetz, of Kenosha; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister Genevieve, and her parents and a great-grandchild, Joshua. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 21 (today) at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tomah with Revs. Dennis Johnson and Robert Toso officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery. The White Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements." She was buried on 21 December 1989 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.11,28 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
