Fanny died on 23 August 1980 at the age of 93 in Nanuet, Rockland County, NY. Obituary Notes: "Vilas, Philomena of Pearl River, N.Y., on August 23, 1980. Beloved mother of Anita Jarrin, Barbara Parchal, Frank Valis, John Valis, Joseph Valis, Charles Valis and Anthony Valis. Sister of Mary Velenovsky and Katherine Oleske. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aedan's R. C. Church, Pearl River, on Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visiting at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave., Pearl River, Monday and Tuesday, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m." She was buried on 27 August 1980 in Nanuet, Rockland County, NY. in the St. Anthony's Church Cemetery. She has Ancestral File Number K2J5-7X6.

Philomena "Fanny" SVEC and Frank Jan VALIS Sr. were married about 1905. Frank Jan VALIS Sr., son of John VALIS and Annie UNKNOWN (VALIS), was born in July 1885 in Bohemia (Czech Republic). He emigrated in 1889 from Bohemia (Czech Republic). He appeared in the census in 1900 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. He was living with his parents and his occupation was "Tailor.". Frank appeared in the census in 1910 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. His household was at 408 Maderia Street (next to that of his parents) and his occupation was "Cutter, Cloth." He appeared in the census in 1920 in Baltimore (Independent City), MD. His household was at 406 Mederia Street in the 6th Ward and his occupation was "Tailor, Clothing Factory." (His surname was spelled "Wallas.")
