Descendants of Abraham Sweet

Abraham Sweet was born in the Rhode Island Colony in 1769 and is the earliest known member of his branch of the Sweet family whose descendants eventually settled in Monroe County.

One of his grandsons, Lafayette Sweet, was first noted in Lincoln Township in the 1870 census. Lafayette's uncle, Levings, was first noted there in 1880.

Abraham's descendants married into families such as Scott, Stowell, Baumgarten, Goodsul, Morse, Payne and Rose.
